Trevone Bay, viewed from the garden

Nestled into the cliffs and trees of its own private headland between beaches on the beautiful Atlantic coast of north Cornwall, Pentonwarra is the perfect holiday home for families, for friends, and for anyone interested in the many delights that the area has to offer. To the west, the house overlooks Trevone's Rocky Beach, ideal for exploring rock pools, skimming stones, a natural swimming pool, and scrambling around on sun-baked rocks. To the east, the garden overlooks Trevone Bay, where swimmers and surfers share the waves and families play on the golden sand.  The sea is so close that you can leave your towel in the garden!

Further afield, but still within reach of a delightful walk along the spectacular section of coast path that passes Pentonwarra's front door, lies Padstow, famous for its seafood and the Camel Trail, among other things. In the other direction lies Trevose Head (whose lighthouse can be seen at night from Pentonwarra), not to mention several landmarks and special beaches and coves on the way. For those thinking of day trips in the car, Port Isaac, Rock, Newquay, Lanhydrock, the Lost Gardens of Heligan, Bodmin Moor, the Eden Project, and much more besides are all within easy reach.

The view from the kitchen window

Even with all this to tempt you beyond the gates, you may find it difficult to leave Pentonwarra. The house itself is cosy and well appointed, with sea views from most windows. A bright kitchen/diner, two sitting rooms, a music room, two kingsize bedrooms (one with an en suite shower room), one triple (one of the three beds is child-sized), a cabin room right on the sea wall, and two family bathrooms provide comfortable accommodation. A terrace with room for everyone overlooks Rocky Beach, basking in the summer sun from late morning right through until sunset—which is invariably spectacular. The lawn is large and level, perfect for children to charge about on; the 'nook' is a romantic little sheltered corner facing out to sea; and an unspoilt Site of Special Scientific Interest (complete with unusually springy grass!) lies beyond at the tip of the private headland. Other facilities include washing machine, tumble dryer, barbecue, and a heated outdoor shower for cleaning off sand and rinsing wetsuits. The house also benefits from private parking for up to three cars.

In fact, it's so easy to while away the days lounging on the balcony in between visits to the beaches and leisurely meals in the cheery kitchen or outside from the barbecue that visitors are at severe risk of missing out on everything that's more than five minutes away...
